Banished feels like a survival simulation In the autumn I pulled laborers out of the mines to bring in the harvest.

The game's mechanics are closely tied to the cycle of the seasons, so in the spring and early summer I shifted everyone into the fields for planting. The game rewards careful study, and those rewards made me begin to care about my little citizens.Īt the expense of making laborers anonymous, Banished provides an enormous amount of control over their virtual lives. Banished's towns look like a busy little ant colonies from afar, but all the activity is something more. Ask a citizen to fell a tree, and watch as they chop it down, carry back and deposit a single wood resource into the town's storage.

And each of those animations has a one-to-one relation to the city's production. Please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions regarding this description. Each step in this arduous process is shown off by delicate animations that give life to the individual tasks. The same applies to the NPCs who want to join the hero and support him with their weapons and knowledge. Heroes can use a rich arsenal of weapons, from simple wooden batons to rocket launchers, when fighting numerous enemies. Interestingly, the game world is not homogeneous and we will find both fantasy and science fiction elements in it. We will also perform dozens of side tasks (quests). We will visit numerous lands, cities and villages, as well as establish contact with a large number of NPCs. The action will lead us through four continents, which consists of about 500 locations (each with a size of 3200x3200 pixels). This is how our adventure begins mysteriously, leading to the discovery of the secrets of the old, turbulent life of the protagonist. Everything seemed to be in order, but when he looked at the ocean, he saw a familiar shape emerging from behind the horizon, a shape he had seen many times before.

As his senses returned to normal, he realized that he was still standing in the same place, in front of his hut, and his axe was lying next to him. He saw in them, among others: a huge steel castle and a brightly lit corridor - places he did not seem to know, but they caused him peculiar feelings of fear, excitement and at the same time evoked some voices from the past.

And so he led a peaceful and harmonious life for some time, until the moment when he was struck by strange visions while performing his daily duties. With time, he got along with its inhabitants and became a part of the local community, and because of his extraordinary physical strength, he became a lumberjack. Due to the fact that he did not remember anything, not even how he found himself in that place, the shaman led to a nearby village. One day a local shaman met him in a nearby forest. The protagonist of the game is a growing man who does not remember his past.
